The Challenge
How can we ignite creativity in the city with platforms that have the potential to expand opportunities for learning, create jobs for young people, and help bring about social change in Lagos?
In 2015, the Ford Foundation (West Africa) and Goethe-Institut (Nigeria) supported a core-working group led by Nsibidi Institute to develop a proposal for an interdisciplinary space in Lagos. The proposed space was to be a learning, co-working and exhibition space for people in the media, arts and urban sector. Known as the Hub, it aimed to cater to a wide range of potential partners and users, exemplifying a model of interaction and joint-working that can be replicated in different parts of Nigeria.
In collaboration with the working team, over a period of eight months we conducted quantitative research , ran multi-disciplinary workshops to inform the authorship of a comprehensive feasibility study that will guide the development of an interdisciplinary space in Lagos State.
THE OUTCOME
Under the directive of Nsibidi Institute, we co-authored a feasibility study titled “A Proposal for an Interdisciplinary Hub in Lagos, Nigeria”
